In that case, Take 2 should take better care of Firaxis, which surely must
be one of their greatest assets.

I have looked there, but I will freely confess that I don't like to muck
around with them, not even with advice from people who feel more at home
with doing such things than I do. (I did try to install Bhuic's patch and
predictably messed things up; I had to reinstall everything.) I'll just
have to hope that eventually, a new official patch *will* be published; I
can't believe they'd leave things the way they are indefinitely.

That's a comfort. By the way, I suppose you know that Firaxis are
recruiting? Though I doubt that many of the people they want would be
assigned to work on BtS. The producer they want to hire is specifically
stated to be expected to "lead a large and experienced team of developers
on
a new highly anticipated product just entering pre-production." Still,
just
about all of them, except the desktop sup****t technician, are expected to
possess "strong communication skills, written and verbal". One can hope
that
this not only refers to communicating with co-workers but also with their
customers; Firaxis have been a little deficient in that respect.
