I made the latest version(1.08) into a self extracting archive, so all you

need to do is copy it into your main civilization4 directory and run it.
It 
will then extract the file to the correct subdirectory.
For most people that will be C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's 
Civilizations 4
