Does the PBEM game use 'locked assets'?  When you install BTS, it
automatically patches vanilla CIV IV to v1.74 (and Warlords to v2.13).
Those patches modify the assets, so locked games for the old versions
aren't going to load anymore.  Only way around it that I know is, as
you say, a seperate CIV install.
