The solutions there just cover coping with the game power dissipation, not
lowering it.

As long as I don't have another PC, I won't feel comfortable opening up my
laptop. My laptop works fine, it even has protection against cooling
shortcomings, by lowering the CPU clockrate or something. The system
response
is not very comfortable though, when it happens. ;)
