Wonder Racing

Here is one of several ways to build all the wonders before the A1 (note:
you won't get the first few at the very beginning of the game (like
pyramids) but should be able to get all the rest)

Your very first city should be on a great production site, scout around a
little before you build it to find the spot.... popping huts to find
non-support units as you go (find 3 non-support units before you build the
first city). After you build the first city, immediately have it build a
settler (if you start with 2 settlers have the second one start working on
mines, irrigation, roads around the first city..especially mines...don't
build a city with this second non-support settler, his non-support is too
valuable). When your first settler is built send him off to a high food
area
and have him build a second city. The second city's job is to churn out
settlers... build a settler and have him work around the city until a
phalaxan is built, then send them off to build a new city, repeat this
proceedure over and over.... get a lot of land settled quickly.... 20 size
1
or 2 cities looks about right. The first tech you should be heading for is
Monarchy. (Republic and Democracy slows your production down..... Monarchy
and Communism are the wonder Govs. If you get the Statue of Liberty
Wonder,
go straight to Communism (from Monarchy)... you can go Democracy later
after
the wonder race is over).

After your first city has built a settler (fortifidy with the 3
non-support
units) build a temple (or Hanging Gardens, or collosus....you will still
need that temple soon). The only thing the first city is going to build
mostly for the rest of the game is Wonders. Now you need to build a second
'wonder city' (eventually haveing 3 'wonder Cities' is ideal). Do the same
thing in the second wonder city... 3 units to fortify it, a temple and
then
Wonders. The trick is to keep building wonders even if the Wonder has
already been built in your other city or by someone else...don't switch
production if you get beat to the wonder. Wait until after you get the
tech
for a new wonder, then switch over to it.

Build caravans in all the surrounding cities...even when there is no
wonder
to build. There is nothing better than having a stack of caravans sitting
in
a city waiting to instantly build a wonder as soon as you get it.... and
then having enough caravans left-over to finish off a second wonder in
'wonder City' #2 while more caravans are being built for later wonders.
Eventually you will hit gaps where a 'Wonder City' is free to build
infrastructure (markets, banks, libaries, ect.)... just make sure you get
the infastructure built (rush buy it) before the other 'Wonder Cities'
finish building their wonder... you want to switch over to that wonder in
the other cities and continue building it after it has already been built.
At least one city should be building a Wonder at all times (even if the
wonder has been already built).

You need at least 2 'Wonder Cities', preferably 3, to grab ALL of the
wonders. If an A1 gets a wonder tech before you do, trade for it. If he
won't trade, steal it and then instantly build it with caravans. Keep
those
caravans coming (big wonders take 16 caravans a piece and be prepared to
build 3 wonders at once.... Darwins, Womans Sufferage, UN,.... eiffel
tower
is a good 'holding' wonder while you wait for the tech for the other 3.
Now
go get Cure for Cancer, Hoover Dam and Setti.... I usually let the A1
build
Apollo and Manhatten, then I nuke them. :))
