After almost 5 years of owning TDR2000 I finally got it to work on one
of my computers. The only problem is most of the cheat codes don't
work, especially the "addPowerUp" cheats. I can turn them on with
"'hereComesTrouble" and the "cash" and "invincible" cheats work fine.
The main thing I want to do is turn off the timer but like the rest of
the power ups "addPowerUpTimer frozen!" just gives me "unknown command"
when I type it. Editing the "options.txt" does nothing because
USE_TIMER is already set to 0. Changing it to either 1 or 0 again does
nothing at all. Some places have said to see a list of the power ups
look for "PowerupStrings_Internal.txt" in the assets folder. I don't
have that file at all, anywhere. The closest thing there is is under
folders ASSETS/STRINGS/ and then 6 folders for 6 different countries.
Then each country folder has a text file named PowerupStrings_US.txt or
PowerupStrings_Ger.txt with the folder country's abbreviation being
after PowerupStrings_. Another thing places have said is that you can
edit the CARMA.pak file in the ASSETS folder. When I open it, or any
pak file, in wordpad or microsoft word it's not an editable file. The
characters aren't in English text. Does anyone know why my cheats don't
work like they do for everyone else and why my files seem to be
different than everyone else's? It seems to be the same story for the
retail version, nosebleed patched version, and also the USmini patch.
I've tried all 3 versions and the cheats and such do the same thing. I
even tried changing the country code in the options.txt. The game
registered it as the other country but the cheats still didn't work. I
know it's an old game but I really hope sombody can help. It's just
pissing me off because it makes no sense.
