I messed with it for several days before finally getting B&W installed
properly on my XP machine. I have all the current Windows Updates (as of
Feb
14, 2004).
I installed it into directory c:\blackandwhite (no spaces in directory
tree
for some reason. I'm not positive this is an issue, but read about it on a
message board).
I installed B&W patch 1.2, downloaded from http://www.gamesdomain.com
And mostly it works from this point, but a NOTE: I had installed it under
my
username on the computer with administrative priveledges, and when my wife
tried to play it under her username (also administrative priveledges) it
wouldn't work -- said it wasn't installed and wouldn't patch. So I
uninstalled it, including manually deleting folders, then reinstalled it
under her username on the computer. Now it works for both of us under our
respective user accounts (weird).
