Yea, it sucks, that's why I don't even play online. Between that and the
assholes that are total pricks to anyone that doesn't spend 10 hours a
day on it, the whole online scene is a mess. Doesn't help that I live in
Alaska, and the 'net seems to have greater ping here than most people
speak of. I think that's one reason the whole WoW thing has taken off so
well: very little cheating due to the way it works, and very little
incentive to cheat.
I do a little bit of modding (add-on mods, NOT hacks, cheats, I make the
good kind of mods), for ut2004 these days (started with ut2003), and
although I'm not the greatest, I CAN tell you that myself and several of
my friends don't mod for HL, HL2, or BF just because of the asshole
parts of those communities. Not saying there's no cheats or assholes in
the world of UT, but I've found less.
Three things that you should think of to make it easier to deal with: 1)
A person that makes cheats, most likely spend so much time on the cheats
that they don't have a social life and wouldn't know what to do if a
****d hot chick fell out of the sky into their lap. 2) A person that
cheats likely has such low self-esteem that they don't have a social
life and also wouldn't know what to do if a ****d hot chick fell out of
the sky into their lap. and 3) People that are so good and attach so
much value to being that good likely spend so much time playing the game
that they don't have a social life and also wouldn't know what to do if
a ****d hot chick fell out of the sky into their lap. See a bit of a
pattern developing?
