Had that situation last night some Noob knifed me cause my cord got hung up
and I could not adequately defend myself. I really get jacked when I get
knifed and don't give up my tags that easily. I am definitely looking
for
a new mouse, and maybe a new game pad. I use the Belkin Nostomo n52 speed
pad, I can't use those xbox type dual thumbstick pads, need the mouse to
control my player look movements. Can't do that on thumbsticks. I know
most professional gamers from what I read in magazines and online just use
the keyboard and wireless mouse. I get lost on a regular keyboard. The
n52 really condenses it and adds the dpad and speedwheel capabilities.
It
helped me out a great deal using this as my game controller. It greatly
improved my Halo play and converted quite nicely when I got my bf2142
addiction/obsession.
Most speedpads which maps the left side of your keyboard and provide a
dpad, speed wheel, and two extra buttons all seem to be the same. I was
thinking of going with the Saitek PZ31A version, as it seems to be more
ergonimically efficient. I still often hit the wrong button in a frantic
exchange of combat even with the n52 speedpad. Genius makes a similar
ErgoMedia 500 pad. Have not been able to find them on display anywhere.
I was in OfficeMax, CompUSA, and Best Buy the other day looking at
displayed
mice, as I have to see before I buy it, and most likely will buy it from
Newegg.com. However, I can't stomache the fact of paying 30-85 for just
a
stupid mouse. Being most I ever paid for a mouse was $12 for a microsoft
optical wheel mouse after rebate and instant savings. Even if it is
bluetooth or wireless, I don't think I would pay more than $20. Plus you
have to feed it batteries. The cord is a pain however. But probably
will
pony up for something.
I am curious to see what others are using for both mouse and controllers?
Is anyone using the Ideazon Fang keypads or keyboard for Battlefield 2142?
They make speciall additions for Warcraft and Battlefield. Is anyone else
using a Belkin n52, or the Logitech G15 game keyboard, Saitek gamepad, or
a
xbox type gamepad with thumbsticks?
And if anyone has successfully mapped their controls to use the mouse to
stear the ocelot/bandit, please let me know? I was able to mapped my
mouse
to steer the trans****t/gun****p but could not get it to work for the
ocelot/bandit. I have trouble even with dpad controls driving the FAV's.
Mostly cause they are too fast. If I could steer the FAV's with the mouse
like the Warthogs in Halo, it would be a big help. Halo, I had most of my
kills from Warthog roadkills.
