Hey! Actually the link posted here did help me plenty!!! I downloaded
it, ran the installer and was able to log in with my .NET Pass****t which
I had registed the game under in 2001 and voila! I just updated my
billing info and I'm in like Flynn!!! How cool is that?
And of course now that the Dark Majesty content is available to all,
it's no issue that this installer installs the basic Asheron's Call.
Long update though to catch up. I think it ran around an hour on my
cable Internet connection.
Much to my surprise also, my old characters are still available too!!
Now, that is just too cool.
So for those who had an account but no longer have the CD and just want
to reactivate it, this does work. The file is good.
I'm not sure if someone could establish a new account with this download
but it might be possible. It's certainly worth the download to give it a
shot. It didn't ask for a CD key when installing so not having a CD with
this file might now be an issue. It wasn't for me but then I was
reactivating an old (very old!) account.
If anyone tries it to start a new account let us all know how it goes.
This would be very cool for people from now until whenever Turbine is
able to make ACDM available for sale again.
