Hey all. Hoping that someone here can help me out on this one. My sons just
got back from Cali after a eight week visit with his mom. Her husband
turned
them on to AC. They really like it and he gave them a legit copy of the
game.
I'm pulling my hair out trying to get game to connect. I am behind a
router-Speedstream, model SS2604 and running WinXP. I have read and
re-read
the help faq and have tried opening the ports 9000-9013(I'm quoting from
memory here) and still no luck. I've uninstalled-reinstalled both Zone and
the game itself but the problem persists.
What it does is this: Game updates w/no problems. Whenever we go to play
it
goes through the tunnel until it times out. We either get the message
"Lost
connection with server" or "Server is not responding".
I'm a gamer myself and have never had a problem connecting to any servers
before. Until this game, I've never had to open ports before either. I
found
that kinda strange anyway. I have configured Zone Alarm to let the game
connect and have also tried shutting ZA down entirely but again, no luck.
It's all tunnel until it times out. I've called their mother and asked if
her husband can connect and apparently he can. The server my kids play on
is
Harvestgain.
If anyone has any suggestions on what the problem is we'd all be very
grateful. Apparently, my kid's have houses that they need to maintain or
some such thing and they're worried about it.
