THANKS Tom!!!
Wonderful finding! ;-)
Meanwhile, I just realized, that on this page
http://www.picofactory.com/download/free/software/pc_emulator/picoxt
has a ready to run, free XT emulator. It needs some ROMS to be fully
functional. Does someone knows, where can we found them?
Anyway, although without the needed roms, runs on basic functionality,
its still useful, for restricted windows accounts (where the user
can't install a complete emulator (vpc, vmware, vbox).
* If someone needs a DOS for installing it, he can choose that one
that comes with windows, or freedos ( http://www.freedos.org/
), or
rom-dos ( http://www.datalight.com/products/romdos/
) (free
registration, free for home users only).
(since rom-dos isn't intented for pcs, includes only a basic desktop
functionality. You may want to add files from freedos CD. eg. an
editor).
If someone needs, only a usual pc dos installation, he can install the
dos utilities (at first installation screen, and choose from the next
screens only what he needs (eg. zip utilities but no programming
tools).
* I was browsing at vmware site and I show these appliances. I didn't
tested them yet. If someone else want to test them, he can find them
there:
(Free Dos beta): http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/378
(Nostalgia, Old DOS games from the early 90's):
http://www.vmware.com/appli=
ances/directory/126
(this 9 Windows OS 98-2003 Default Installed, you can use to
softtest,sercurity and hack it.):
http://www.vmware.com/appliances/director=
y/1034
Any experience with them?
Greetings to all !!! ;-)
Giorgos. :-)
