No, it wouldn't be slavery. If you had a cat, would you let it run
away, or would you do the best you could to ensure it would stay? Would
you keep it indoors all the time? Or would you build a fence for it so
it wouldn't run away on you? If it's just a pet, then it's not slavery,
it's caring for your pet. If it was intelligent enough to understand
what I want of it (ie, to not run away, to not attack people, etc, etc)
then I wouldn't have a problem with it having non-working wings.
But myself, I'm bipedal, and I have wings. So I think that would be a
nice thing.

No, if it's a pet it doesn't have to be less intelligent than you. I
know lots of people whose pets are much smarter than they are. In fact,
they're not smart enough to know that they're not smart enough to own a
pet in the first place.....
