So does my consort. He drives long haul...I last saw him, briefly, on
Saturday night...long enough to make sure he'd have food for his
latest trip(s). With which company do you drive? And do you drive
mostly local work or do you drive long-haul?

Makes sense. "Chicks" it is. "Hatchling" would work for my youngest,
but my oldest is clearly feathered now...I generally refer to him as a
"fledgling"

In truth, it's all in the timing. All I have to make sure is that we
go when the youngest hasn't had a nap, and nobody has yet eaten their
lunch...

Hey! Are you calling *me* a lesser being?!! <pout!> And after I was so
nice to you! <tickles Flame Stryke's nose with tail tuft> One need not
be the same creature to be considered an equal...<easily dodges swat
from dragon paw- but also knows that the swat, as well as the implied
slight were all in good fun -- not to be taken seriously>

Birds, too. One of the reasons why one keeps a cuttlebone with pet
birds.
