  I understand that its difficult to adapt such a nuanced novel to a 
feature-length film.  However, there were several im****tant pieces left 
out that would make the whole story confusing to those who hadn't read 
the books.  I have to agree that they would have been better off not 
trying to cram the entire book into one 90 minute feature.

  Perhaps the entire movie could have benefited with a more detailed 
prologue that gave more background.
