I think you were the one who pointed me to the Anvil of Time series.
The preview actually seems interesting, with liberating Nordmaar from
Dragonarmy occupation of all. Presumably set between the WotL and
Chaos War and in a little explored area of Ansalon, and not written
for young children, I am actually interested in reading this. I am not
so fascinated by the mercenary concept, to be honest, neither the fact
that they have dug up yet another characters briefly presented in
earlier works (Vanderjack was a candidate for being Dargent in DL7) to
be used as a basis for the book. But Cam Banks knows is Dragonlance
and the AD&D game, so I have some faith in him capturing some
Dragonlance spirit in this novel, making it an enjoyable read. If it
does, it likely will be the first DL novel I finish since DoVM.
