Dang, Weldon. I actually thought the thread wasn't so bad until you joined

in the fray. Tired participants in a tired argument, no doubt, but at
least
it was about ideas rather than seriously flaming our fellow fans the way
you do. Nice to see some healthy activity in the newsgroup, I thought,
even
if it's not of the "whose you're favorite mage" variety of the web forum.

I don't think anyone's deliberately spreading falsehoods, so you can quit
pointing the finger. I beg your pardon, but I, too, have honestly been of
the assumption--truthfully or erroneously, if an absolutely correct point
of view can be found--that the SAGA game was a commercial failure.

I personally think it's interesting to discuss the 5th Age now that we
have a little more perspective, and can put it in the context of how
similar changes might or might not affect DL in the present and in the
near
future. As you say, only WotC now knows what is in store.

Well, I personally have "grown" I guess you might say--at least, grown to
appreciate the Fifth Age and to consider it the best time for the setting
since 1984-1986. But Morten is free to keep to 1984-1987 as his standard.
It's like Star Wars--many good, honest fans are interested only in the
original trilogy, and I really can't blame them. Regards.
