  But Raistlin only got Crysania to fall for him because he wanted to 
use her to open the ****tal.  And his actions towards her, even before he 
abandoned her in the Abyss, certainly didn't seem like loving actions. 
She was a naive woman drawn towards a "dark and mysterious man" she felt 
she could change.

  The way I read it, anyway.  :)
