Well, there's a lot of speculation on the issue right now. And there
are several plausible explainations. The prevelent was has been that
WotC is simply removing the competition so more people will go to
their game settings.
I however, still believe that there is other valuable factors. For
example, There's still the Dragonlance Animated movie in production.
And the DL books aren't doing badly. And if sovereign press and
Margaret Weis Productions did do rather well with then they know
there's still money to be made. I believe that WotC might be seeing
the possibility of using the animated movie, book line, and so forth
to re-initialize the entire brand in a broad market. The lack of
renewal means that in one year's time, WotC/hasbro could be doing
things with dragonlance.
The question is..... is this a good thing?
