It's been a long time since last I looked through DL15 and 16, but I am
quite sure I remember that there was an adventure in DL15 which was for
first-player characters, and which was set in one part of the map in
DL1, and just prior to the events of DL1. The key in DL1 said that a
wizard had once lived there; DL15 expanded on this and presented a map
of his castle. IIRC, the adventure was meant for characters outside of
Krynn who was trans****ted there though a ****tal at the beginning.
Some of this may be wrong, but like I said, it's been a while, many
years in fact. I actually ran that adventure once, and it started with
the PCs coming across a kender who had passed from Krynn through the
****tal, and they followed him to Krynn. I don't remember if the kender
was in the module or something I came up with, though.
Of course, other ideas may be to familiarize the players with the
pre-WoS setting, such as making them mercenaries for one of the many
feuding feudal lords, working their way
up a few levels before going on a mission to Solace that turns out
different than expected. Or they could just be traveling to Solace from
somewhere for some reason, having a few adventures along the way. You
may have to create them yourself, though.
