i'll preface this by saying:
this book sucks
i'm halfway through it and it's tripe. i thought most other rabe
books i read were ok, and i really enjoyed the dhamon trilogy, but
this book is a real let down.
that being said, i have a question regarding the "lake of death"
that's the central feature of this book (so far).
i seem to recall reading somewhere that the lake of death (ie, the
lake that is now sitting where the city of qualinost once stood) was
acidic / chlorofomic. in other words, extremely deadly to the touch
and poisonous.
now, i may just be having some sort of brain fart and didn't read that
at all, but i'm usually not *that* scatterbrained.
can someone clarify or refute this for me? cause i know i'm extremely
confused that the lake in this book has no detrimental qualities other
than being slightly weird, spooky, and haunted.
(and if there's something that changes after the halfway point of the
book, please don't spoil it for me.)
